Introduction

This interactive project is designed for the Chinese spy drama “谍战剧” audience: breaking down the narrative of spy drama into (the most clichéd) motifs, I shot 90 film clips out of the motifs. By encouraging people to pick motifs and make up their own preferred version of spy drama, the project induces people’s critical reflection on the grammar of spy drama and its cultural implications.
